This months East Midlands MMOC Branch meet saw a great turn out of Moggys at the Nurseryman, and a special guest was also in attendance, club secretary Ray Newell, who was giving us a talk and slide show celebrating 40 years of the MMOC.
Ray's talk focused largely on the importance of the East Midlands Branch within the clubs history and how much the Branch and its members contributed during the formative years of the MMOC. Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire have long been important to the club, with the MMOC's HQ based in Derby, and the Midland Regional Rally being held at Wollaton Hall for 10 years. The East Midlands, as a scenic location, and the people who live there, have played a crucial role within the development of the club over the last 40 years.
The evolution of the club over the past 40 years has been mammoth. From a smaller scale network of owners, with the club as a reliable source of spares and knowledge, into a vast community spanning the globe, connecting owners and enthusiasts from all walks of life and every age group.
This years National Rally at Catton Hall will see the East Midlands once again hosting a major event in the MMOC's history; the 40 Years Celebration. And Ray's promised us the celebrations are going to be monumental!
Many thanks to Ray Newell for coming along to our March Branch Meet and regaling us with lots of brilliant stories and interesting information about the club and its history!
